Governance Manager

Interim Senior Governance Role – Professional Membership Organisation £26 - £30 ph Hybrid 2 days in the office Temporary - on-going Leicester area

Our client A respected professional membership organisation with a strong public‑interest purpose is seeking to appoint senior interim governance professionals. The organisation operates nationally and internationally, with a clear focus on professional standards, member value and organisational accountability.

The role Provide senior‑level governance oversight within a complex, member‑led environment. Lead and quality‑assure committee processes, including agenda planning, paper preparation and high‑quality minuting. Offer independent, well‑reasoned challenge and support to senior stakeholders. Contribute to assurance, risk management and organisational performance. Operate in a hands‑on capacity while bringing strategic perspective to governance improvement. This interim assignment is expected to run for a minimum of four to six months, with potential extension.

The person Significant experience within a membership body or a complex charity environment. Strong governance judgement, independence of thought and analytical capability. Confident working with senior leaders and committees in regulated or standards‑led contexts. Able to step into an interim role and provide both stability and uplift.
