Job Title: Government Sales Team Lead
The Opportunity
Defence budgets are rising across every major government, and maritime risk tops the agenda. Our client, a global leader in maritime data and intelligence, holds the dataset those governments need, yet remains undersold in the sector. This is a founding seat: build the government business from the ground up.
The Impact You Will Have
- Own the EMEA government book, moving it from five-figure renewals to six and seven-figure, multi-year defence contracts
- Form the government go-to-market strategy from scratch and carry it to signed revenue
- Open doors at ministries, navies and agencies, including NATO, Frontex and EMSA programmes
- Shape product direction, from certification to partnerships with satellite and dark-vessel detection providers
- Build the case, and the team, for expanded investment in 2027 and beyond

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Maritime, defence integrator or ex-military background preferred
- The judgement to advise leadership, not just carry a number
