GP Training Programme Director

Trainer the Trainer Faculty – East Midlands (10 Sessions) & Training Programme Director Support

Post currently lasting until 31.03.2027

This 9-month training role rotates between:

  • Trainer the Trainer Faculty (9 months per year) Working as part of the faculty in the East Midlands

  • Training Programme Director (TPD) Support (remaining 3 months) Assisting with local GP training programmes or ARCP panel support

Professional development guidance:

  • Starting pay scale at GP01
  • Must demonstrate 12 months’ prior fulfilment of GP00 responsibilities, with verifiable educational experience relevant to the role
  • Applicants without equivalent evidence will be placed at GP00 for 12 months before progressing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivery of educator training across 9 months per year:
    • Three five-day courses
    • Various two-day courses
    • One-day refresher sessions
  • TPD Support during the other 3 months:
    • Support for local GP training programmes
    • Assistance with ARCP panels

About the Role

The role supports the NHS England mandate, working closely with the Primary Care Dean and Heads of School. Core functions include:

  • Facilitating high-quality educator training aligned with framework requirements

  • Ensuring educational standards are upheld within GP training programmes

  • Ensuring NHS England’s broader goals are met, including:

    • Delivering high-quality care for patients
    • Optimising NHS efficiency through reduced waste and best value for taxpayers
    • Fostering a supportive, high-performing workforce
  • Innovation focus: Leveraging digital technology, research, and workforce development to drive excellence in education and patient care
