Merging Organisations North Bristol NHS Trust (NBT) and University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) are in the process of merging into a unified organisation effective July 2026.

About the Position Due to increasing demand, NBT invites applications for a part-time GPs/trainees with (or future interest in) a specialist career in allergy.

Job Overview
The role focuses on allergy care within an expanding specialty. It may offer:
- Clinical autonomy with expertise development.
- Training in allergy challenges, inpatient supervision (post-training).
- Supporting NHS Cross-Border Commissioned services for Taunton, South Gloucestershire, and Bath.
Main Duties (Clinical & Administrative)
Clinical Duties
- Lead outpatient allergy care, liaising with Consultants and Specialists.
- Conduct allergy clinics (after targeted training) and challenges (under required supervision).
- Supervise junior medical colleagues and Nursing staff.
- Teach/PGTME accreditation duties with Director guidance (if required).
Operational Requirements
- Adherence to Medical Board policies (e.g., Risk Management).
- NHS workload awareness (national/local financial considerations).
Other than the Position
- Responsibility includes medical performance underperformance support (confidential escalation to Medical Director if unresolved).
- Administrative support may include managerial/educational responsibilities.

Person Specification
Essential Educational Criteria
✔ Full GMC registration.
Desirable Qualifications (Allergy Focus)
✔ MRCP(UK) Allergy/Immunology. ✔ Postgraduate (MRCGP experience). ✔ Evidence of allergy experience in training or practice.
Experience & Training
✔ 18+ months UK-based clinical experience (primary/secondary care). ✔ Completion of GPTraining or ongoing speciality/established scheme (post-F2).
- Desirable: General Practice within BNSSG, conference attendance.
Knowledge & Specific Attributes
- Desirable: Quality assurance (audits)/research in allergy.
- Fluency in delivery (e.g., seminars on allergy/GP roles).
General Skills
✔ Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. ✔ Effective written/verbal communication. ✔ Competency in MS Office/IT tools.
