About the Role
The Governing Body of St. Matthias CE Primary School in Malvern are seeking to appoint a teaching assistant to work across our classes from Early Years- KS2, with our dedicated and aspirational staff to provide support and exciting experiences for children including those with a range of additional needs. St Matthias is a school with a warm heart that is proud to serve the local community for the common good. Our staff are determined to make improvements and ensure that every child has an excellent education within a supportive environment. We are committed to continuous professional development so a passion for learning and personal improvement is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Be a good classroom practitioner
- Be sensitive to the needs of individual learners
- Be enthusiastic and determined to make learning fun
- Have some experience of leading evidence-based interventions. (For example: Phonics, Maths, Reading, Jimbo Fun, etc.)
- Be passionate about good teaching and learning including Early Years curriculum and practice
- Have excellent English and Maths skills
- Be responsible and resourceful
- Have relevant qualifications
- Be committed to raising the level of achievement for all pupils, regardless of economic background or other need
- Have a positive, cheerful attitude with an unconditional positive regard for our children
- Be able to work effectively as part of a team
- Be willing to learn and be actively involved in training and improving
- Be able to reflect the Christian values of our school
- Committed to safeguarding and child protection procedures.
Requirements
- Experience of working with children across the primary age range and knowledge of Special Educational Needs is essential.
- The post may be initially in the Early Years, however skills across the Primary age range would be welcomed.
- The duties and responsibilities allocated to the post will be based on the skills, experience, knowledge and qualifications of the individual appointed, which will determine the salary grade.
- Applicants should state any particular areas of strength or expertise that they may be able to bring to the school.

Job Details

- Hours: 27.5 hours per week plus lunch cover 2.5 hours per week
- Contract: Term-time only, Fixed term contract 1 year
- Grade: TA2, Points 5-6 (£25,583 - £25,989 p.a.) Pro-rata Salary £16,263 - £16,890 p.a.
