Job Description

Goal of Position

In this role you will be a crucial link between customers, sales teams, and engineering to ensure the creation of successful specifications, proposal documents, and delivery of technical equipment orders. You will need to take a technical and commercial view to the total viability of an order/enquiry by balancing commercial ambition against our engineering capability and effort.

Responsibilities

  • Assess customer applications to understand appropriate product specifications.
  • Review incoming orders for correct technical and commercial alignment.
  • Prepare accurate proposals, including technical configurations and cost calculations.
  • Enter order details into ERP/IT systems and prepare formal order acknowledgments.
  • Resolve technical, application-related, or delivery concerns.
  • Engage with customers to secure drawing approvals for complex orders.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation is created for sales support, manufacturing, testing, and compliance.
  • Maintain an organized database of machine drawings and past designs.
  • Provide input for design guide updates and suggest improvements.
  • Assist in product testing to validate customer requirements are met.
  • Participate in technical enquiry meetings to support the sales process.

Essential

  • Engineering or technical education.
  • Ability to manage high-volume customer interactions and complex sales order processes, ensuring accuracy and customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrable problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills applied confidently at all levels.
  • Proficient in using related software, e.g., Microsoft Office Excel to a high level.
