Are you passionate about engineering, problem-solving, and cutting-edge technology? Whether you're an experienced engineering technician or a recent engineering graduate looking to launch your career, this is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative global manufacturer working at the forefront of fibre optic technology.

We're looking for an enthusiastic and hands-on individual to join a growing team. You'll work alongside experienced Application Engineers, supporting the development, testing, and continuous improvement of industry-leading products while gaining exposure to every stage of the engineering process.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys practical engineering, has strong attention to detail, and wants to build a long-term career within a highly technical environment.

What you'll be doing

  • Supporting engineers with new product development, testing, and validation projects.
  • Producing and updating engineering documentation, procedures, and technical work instructions.
  • Building, assembling, and testing fibre optic components and cable assemblies.
  • Conducting fibre handling activities including stripping, cleaving, polishing, splicing, and inspection.
  • Assisting with prototype development and proof-of-concept builds.
  • Analysing test results and supporting process improvements.
  • Working with manufacturing partners to provide technical support and training.
  • Supporting customer qualification trials and helping resolve technical issues.
  • Maintaining a well-organised engineering training laboratory.
  • Collaborating with engineering and product teams to deliver innovative technical solutions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
