About the Role

Torus is seeking a motivated Graduate Asset Planning Surveyor to join our Strategy and Planning Team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to build your career within a forward-thinking organisation, supporting the delivery of a high-quality asset planning service through a range of data capture and inspection activities, including stock condition, QA, energy performance, asbestos re-inspection, and HHSRS surveys.

Working collaboratively with Asset Management colleagues and stakeholders, you will help deliver a seamless, value-for-money service while ensuring compliance with construction and on-site health and safety legislation. Strong knowledge of construction and health and safety legislation, along with understanding of building surveys, is essential.

The post will be based in Warrington but travel to other locations will be required.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Support the team in conducting a variety of asset management surveys and maintaining accurate records.
  • Liaise with customers and stakeholders to agree design modifications and provide technical advice.
  • Assist with validation surveys to inform future investment at individual and estate levels.
  • Support the production of Energy Performance Certificates.
  • Assess building conditions, identify defects, and recommend repairs or appropriate actions.
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of Decent Homes standards and the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS).
  • Apply strong knowledge of construction methods, contracts, and relevant health and safety legislation.
  • Champion the use of GIS, asset management software, and mobile working solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with Torus quality assurance, health, and safety policies.
  • Promote change, innovation, continuous improvement, value for money, and risk management.
  • Take responsibility for personal and professional development.
  • Contribute positively to a collaborative team environment based on trust, respect, and accountability.

What We're Looking For

  • Evidence of, and commitment to, continual professional and personal development.
  • Ability to carry out a range of surveys, including stock condition, HHSRS, and asbestos validation surveys, using electronic data capture.
  • Sound knowledge of health and safety legislation relevant to property maintenance.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment for staff and customers.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Ability to travel to multiple locations using own transport with business insurance.

Interview Process

Candidates will undergo in-person interviews, consisting of competency-based questions. Interviews will take place week commencing 2nd February 2026.

Additional Information

Successful applicants must complete the following pre-employment checks including:

  • Right to work verification.
  • Qualification certificate check.
  • Two satisfactory references.
  • Occupational Health Questionnaire.
  • DBS check (if required for role).
  • Completion of all new starter documentation including signed T&C’s.
