About The Role
We are looking for a Graduate Azure Engineer who is passionate about technology, problem-solving, and learning how modern IT services operate within a cloud-first environment. This role is ideal for someone who has recently completed a technical degree and wants to develop capability across IT operations, Azure cloud platforms, infrastructure, identity, networking, and cyber security fundamentals.
You will work with colleagues across Technology to support day-to-day IT operations while assisting with Azure platform administration, governance, and cloud environment maintenance. You will gain hands-on exposure to Azure infrastructure (IaaS & PaaS), Azure networking, identity and access management (Entra ID), DevOps pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code, monitoring, and security practices.
Initial projects will include supporting the IT service desk, assisting with device and identity management, contributing to Azure environment operations, helping maintain DevOps pipelines, and supporting monitoring and cloud security activities.
This role will be based at either our Leeds or Edinburgh office.
Key Responsibilities Include
Azure Cloud Platform
- Supporting day-to-day Azure platform operations including virtual machines, storage, networking, and identity services (IaaS/PaaS & virtual networks).
- Assisting with Azure governance activities including Role Based Access Control (RBAC), Azure Policies, and contribution to Landing Zone maintenance.
- Helping administer and troubleshoot Entra ID (Azure AD), identity & access management, MFA, and conditional access.
- Supporting cloud deployment activity including security hardening and environment configuration.

DevOps, Automation & Infrastructure as Code
- Maintaining and supporting Azure DevOps pipelines, ensuring reliable build/release processes.
- Learning and contributing to Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Bicep/ARM/Terraform) for consistent cloud resource provisioning.
- Participating in automation initiatives to improve efficiency across operations and cloud environments.
Monitoring, Security & Governance
- Monitoring Azure resources, alerts, performance, and security events using platform and SIEM tooling where applicable.
- Supporting cyber security fundamentals, including patching, access controls, endpoint protection, and secure configurations.
- Assisting with incident management and environment support for cloud and on-premise systems.
- Contributing to documentation for processes, troubleshooting steps, asset information, and configuration changes.
What Success Looks Like
- Growing capability in diagnosing and resolving IT issues independently.
- Increasing confidence administering Azure infrastructure, identity (Entra ID), governance, and DevOps tooling.
- Delivering excellent customer service and maintaining strong relationships with users and stakeholders.
- Demonstrating understanding of cloud security, monitoring, and operational best practices.
- Showing initiative in improving automation, pipeline reliability, and cloud environment stability.
Our Ideal Person
- A technical degree in Computer Science, IT, Networking, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a similar discipline.
- Understanding of IT fundamentals: operating systems, networks, hardware, troubleshooting, and security basics.
- Exposure to Microsoft 365 and Azure concepts such as Entra ID, virtual machines, cloud identity, and role-based access control (desirable).
- A logical problem solver with an appetite to understand root causes and improve processes.
- Comfortable learning new tools and technologies in a structured environment.
- Strong communicator with a helpful, customer-focused approach.
