Our depth of experience, specialist expertise and strong local knowledge enable us to support clients at every stage of the property lifecycle, from acquisition and ownership through to development and disposal.
As our Building Surveying team continues to grow, we are delighted to offer an excellent opportunity for a Graduate Building Surveyor to join our dynamic Cambridge office.
Education
This role provides hands-on experience across a diverse range of projects and surveying instructions. You’ll work on schemes within residential, education, industrial and commercial sectors, gaining exposure to a variety of professional services, including:
- Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) surveys
- Pre-acquisition Building Surveys
- Design and Contract Administration
- Schedules of Condition
- Schedules of Dilapidations
- Reinstatement Cost Assessments

You will collaborate with an impressive client portfolio, including major retailers, local authorities, museums, universities, colleges and property investors. Key Responsibilities
- Support contract administration duties, including attending meetings, preparing specifications, procuring tenders, producing contract documents and undertaking site inspections.
- Assist in carrying out building surveys, accurately recording site information and summarising findings clearly and concisely.
- Analyse and report on building defects.
- Support the preparation of dilapidations schedules and negotiations.
- Assist with the supervision of works on site.
- Provide advice on design, construction, maintenance, repair and refurbishment across a variety of residential and commercial buildings.
- Undertake building, condition and measured surveys.

Skills, Qualifications & Attributes
- A minimum 2:2 bachelor’s degree in a RICS-accredited Building Surveying or related course.
- Right to Work in the UK (visa sponsorship not available).
- Genuine passion for the built environment and the surveying profession.
- Curiosity, enthusiasm and a strong desire to learn from experienced colleagues who are committed to developing future talent.
- Ambition to become a Chartered Building Surveyor, with the drive to progress through the APC.
- Strong communication skills, with a confident and professional manner in client-facing situations.
- Ability to produce clear, accurate documentation in line with our quality standards.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks across multiple projects.
