Graduate Civil Engineer
We have exciting opportunities for Civil Engineering Graduates
Join the UK’s largest and most diverse geotechnical and ground engineering contractor.
The role will be challenging, demanding, varied and a fantastic opportunity to begin your engineering career alongside the support offered from our vastly experienced team.
What you'll be doing
- Support the management of site operations, to ensure safety, quality, cost effectiveness, timely production and customer satisfaction
- Assist in planning and sequencing of operations, including writing method statements and risk assessments, and procuring sub-contractor, labour, plant and material resources
- Implement operational quality control measures and QA processes
- Develop work plans, method statements and risk assessments
- Monitor the progress of project works
- Take a proactive approach in the responsibility for Health and Safety ensuring all required documentation is in place
- Ensure full communication across all management levels within the project
- Attend regular meetings with the client to discuss and appraise performance
- Ensure that all operatives are provided with the necessary resources, materials, and information for the carrying out of their duties and for ensuring that safe working practices are followed
- Complete quality inspections to ensure work is completed to a safe standard
- Conduct self in a way that reflects and promotes the Van Elle company values.
- Understand and act in accordance with Van Elle’s policies and procedures.
- Any other tasks that you may reasonably be required to undertake

Who we're looking for
- Degree in Civil Engineering or similar
- Be able to demonstrate practical experience from construction or similar transferable skills
- Experience with AutoCAD preferable
- IT competent in Microsoft packages
- Valid CSCS would be beneficial
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work effectively to deadlines and under pressure
- Good attention to detail and accuracy of work
- Effective planning and organisation skills
- A structured approach to problem-solving
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and technical skills
- Knowledge of the relevant legal and safety regulations
Other Requirements
- Eligible to work and live in the UK.
- Flexibility to travel in the UK.
- A full driving licence, that is valid in the UK (desirable)

- Hours of work are 8.00am – 5.00pm, Monday to Friday
