We’re part of the McAllister Group, and we’re seeking a Graduate Engineer to join our team. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers, project managers, and site teams on a variety of infrastructure and utility projects and gain exposure to both office-based engineering activities and practical site operations, developing a broad understanding of project delivery from design through construction.

About The Role

We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Graduate Civil Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This is an excellent chance for a recent graduate to gain hands-on experience across a range of civil engineering and infrastructure projects while working alongside experienced engineers and project professionals.

As a Graduate Civil Engineer, you will support the successful planning, design, coordination, and delivery of projects, developing both your technical knowledge and practical site experience. You will cover all stages of project delivery and play an active role in ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and delivery of civil engineering projects.
  • Support site teams with setting out, surveying, inspections, and quality assurance activities.
  • Prepare technical reports, project records, progress updates, and engineering documentation.
  • Assist with project cost control, programme monitoring, and performance reporting.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure works comply with specifications, drawings, and safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
  • Support the preparation of risk assessments, method statements, and other project documentation.
  • Assist with engineering calculations, design reviews, and technical assessments where required.
  • Promote and maintain compliance with company procedures, industry regulations, and health and safety standards.
  • Participate in site visits to gain practical experience across construction and utility operations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support the successful delivery of project objectives.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Degree (BEng, MEng, or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable:

  • Relevant placement, internship, or industry experience.
  • Knowledge of civil engineering, utility, water, and wastewater projects.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or engineering design software.
  • Understanding of construction health and safety requirements.
  • Interest in pursuing professional qualifications and long-term career development within the engineering sector.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and Word).

Employment Details

Pay Range: £30,000 – £35,000 per year. Location: McAllister – London (Executive Office).
