Job Summary

You’ll gain hands-on experience in site/civil engineering design, streamlining project workflows, and supporting the planning, design, and permitting of various projects. Your responsibilities will span mixed-use developments, shopping centres, residential projects, institutional and federal infrastructure, and more, paired with opportunities to quickly build expertise within a collaborative, agile team.


Key Responsibilities

Design & Documentation

  • Assist in civil engineering design, land development, and infrastructure planning.
  • Create, edit, and refine technical deliverables—including drafts, cost estimates, construction schedules, and permit documentation—using industry-standard software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and data.
  • Contribute to higher education, mixed-use, government, commercial, and private land development projects in both urban and rural settings.

Technical & Geospatial Analysis

  • Interpret topographic, geologic, soil composition, hydrological, and territorial data from drawings, maps, aerial photographs, and engineering reports to support design decisions.
  • Assess site conditions and recommend efficiency improvements across technical services delivery.
  • Apply solid engineering fundamentals and advanced mathematics to ensure technically sound planning and design.

Collaboration & Innovation

  • Work closely in project teams to meet client needs while maintaining company standards.
  • Collaborate with professionals across disciplines (geotechnical, environmental, etc.) to refine project approaches.
  • Explore innovative solutions that optimise design workflows, quality, and client satisfaction.

Flexibility

  • Be available for standard business hours (Monday–Friday), with occasional coverage of extended projects during evenings and weekends.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.

Experience

  • 0–2 years of relevant professional or academic experience, with strong preference for candidates who have:
    • Confirmed school-based civil engineering internships.
    • Completed assignments in site planning, grading, stormwater management, drainage systems, or soil erosion control.

Technical & Soft Skills

  • Proven technical accuracy, but also the ability to synthesise on-the-job challenges strategically.
  • Clear and persuasive written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Creativity in problem-solving while maintaining compliance with engineering standards.
  • Adaptability to shift priorities and collaborate without direct supervision.
