Edmundson Electrical are the UK’s leading distributor of branded electrical equipment to trade and industry, selling over 120,000 product lines and employing over 4,000 staff across 400+ locations in the UK and Ireland. A fast-growing company with a strong tradition of training and developing talent in sales and managerial roles, they are now seeking entry-level graduates to help sustain their continued growth.
The Role
Edmundson Electrical are recruiting to train and develop ambitious graduates across their 400 independently run profit centres nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
As a Graduate Sales Trainee, you will:
- Obtain deep company knowledge by training in various business functions
- Develop into an external customer-facing sales role after ~12 months
- Identify and develop new business opportunities, including:
- Discovering untapped accounts
- Chasing dormant/lapsed customers
- Build thorough product knowledge to effectively promote Edmundson Electrical to clients
- Chase down, influence, negotiate, and generate sales—both over the phone and in-person

Training & Progression Pathway
First 6 Months
✅ Branch-based introductory training – Learn about products, warehouse operations, market, customers, and suppliers ✅ 12-month rotation across departments, including:
- Warehouse operations
- Trade counter
- Sales training modules ✅ Sales starts around Month 3 – Call lapsed accounts and self-source new accounts ✅ Start industry-leading sales training via BMS (Building (Skills)) Management Solutions

Next 6–12 Months
✅ Build sales consistency—drive revenue and refine techniques ✅ Deepen understanding of the full sales process ✅ Develop mentorship relationships with senior sales colleagues for career guidance ✅ Advanced BMS sales training to strengthen technical and interpersonal skills

12+ Months & Beyond
✅ Transition out of Graduate Sales Trainee role ✅ Contribute to hitting sales targets and becoming a key part of the team ✅ Further opportunities for job progression into management, dependent on performance and customer relationship development
Requirements
✔ No prior sales experience needed ✔ Must have a full, clean UK driving license (eg. Cannot have unspent motoring convictions) ✔ Strong verbal & written communication skills ✔ A highly driven individual with strong work ethic and the ability to work both collaboratively and independently ✔ Ability to occasionally work on Saturday mornings (company operates 6-day trading weeks)

Must NOT have unspent motoring convictions under UK law—due to operational needs that require comprehensive driving checks
