Graduate Sales Trainee – Entry Level Opportunity with Edmundson Electrical

A fast-growing company with a long track record in training and mentoring talent—both in sales and managerial roles. Now seeking entry-level talent to expand their teams further.
The Role: Graduate Sales Trainee
Employment will be based at any of Edmundson’s 400 independently managed profit centres across the UK.
In this zero-experience-entry role, you will:
- Gain full education on product knowledge, the market, and company operations
- Receive accredited sales training (fully funded) and ongoing on-the-job mentorship
- Progress into External Sales and potentially Profit Centre Management in the future

Key Responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the business by training across different functions
- Evolve into an external, customer-facing sales role within ~12 months
- Identify & develop opportunities from:
- New customers
- Dormant/lapsed accounts
- Build thorough product knowledge to confidently:
- Engage with customers
- Promote Edmundson Electrical as their top supplier choice
- Lead-wise negotiations, generate sales via:
- Phone outreach and in-person client visits
Package & Benefits
As a Graduate Commercial Trainee, you will receive:

Requirements
This role is ideal for graduates who:
- Have exceptional verbal and written communication skills—agile and engaging
- Hold a full, clean UK driving licence (travel is key)
- Display strong work ethic, autonomy, and collaborative teamwork
- Are willing to work occasional Saturdays—business operates 6 days/week
- Are graduates ready for immediate start

What Your Journey Will Look Like
First 6 Months: Learning Phase
- Learn on base: warehouse experience to understand products, procedures & markets
- Transitional shifts into trade counter to develop essential transferable skills
- Start selling:
- Cross-product calling and reactivating dormant accounts
- Start prospecting & sourcing new leads
- Begin the BMS Sales Training Programme (national industry leader)
- Develop foundational sales acumen
Next 6–12 Months: Growth & Transition
- Develop consistent revenue-generating clients
- Learn the entire sales cycle through real-world experience
- Strengthen relationships with senior sales/management
- Continually refine BMS sales structures with incremental responsibility
12+ Months Forward: Career Development
- Shift into External Sales from the training role
- Exceed sales targets and become part of the frontline sales team
- Progression to management for high performers with long-term client relationships
