Graduate Construction Project Manager - Southampton or Basingstoke
General Manager, Project – Buildings & Places
We have an exciting opportunity within our Project Management Team in Southampton.
About the Role
As a Graduate Project Manager at AECOM, you will undertake projects across a range of exciting sectors including:
- Education
- Healthcare
- Sports facilities
- Residential developments
- Transport infrastructure
You’ll assist in driving projects forward for both public and private-sector clients, from the initial concept stage right through to construction and operation. As a key interface between stakeholders—including clients, design teams, consultants, contractors, and project teams—you’ll help ensure efficient project execution, adherence to deadlines, and ongoing value delivery.
Responsibilities

Core duties include:
- Regular coordination with all project stakeholders
- Procurement support
- Assisting Senior & Associate Project Managers
- Contact & data administration
- Project scheduling & progress reporting
- Site visits, meetings & task coordination

Qualifications & Skills
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (minimum 2:1 or equivalent) in:
- Project Management
- Construction Project Management
- Construction Management
- Quantity Surveying
- Civil Engineering
- Strong decision-making & communication ( verbal & written )
- Teamplayer with ability to collaborate across varied disciplines
- Agile, proactive for landmark achievements within deadlines
Preferred (Advantage)
- Master’s degree in project/construction management
- RICS accreditation
Additional Notes:
