At our core, we’re all about people. We go our own way while embracing diversity and celebrating our differences. We dedicate ourselves to the idea that we work better together.
Autotrader is a beautiful, surprising and vibrant place to work. We might not be for everyone, but we could be perfect for you.
About The Job
Our people-centred culture, combined with our tech and data expertise, makes us one of the UK's leading technology companies and a great place to start your career as a Data Analyst.
Our Data Analysts are data experts within the business. They curate and analyse data that supports key decisions and solutions for our customers, colleagues and consumers. They aren’t just interested in trends; they seek to understand the why and how within the data, using analytical techniques such as hypothesis testing, statistical modelling, and machine learning.
Our Data Analysts are very collaborative, working with a range of disciplines within their teams, including product leads, software engineers, and other data analysts/scientists, to find the best solution.
All of our graduates start their careers in our in-house academy. We'll help build your knowledge of the automotive industry, and you also don't need to love cars to work here. Following the academy, you will join one of our product & technology teams and have a dedicated Data Analyst to support you daily in developing the skills and experience key to your role. This will include shadowing, pairing, and gradually taking on independence with your own tasks and projects. You’ll have the opportunity to work on many different analytical problems and undergo training to develop skills key to the role.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What we're looking for
You’ll be a graduate (or graduating in 2026) in any degree discipline, or hold a level 6 qualification, with a passion for coding, technology and analytics.
You should have a basic understanding of (or desire to learn) data analysis concepts, including techniques like regression and hypothesis testing, and be eager to further develop these skills.
You’ll have a desire to learn new technologies – a large part of this role involves coding.
You'll have experience cleaning, analysing and presenting data. We'd love to hear examples of this in your application.
As a digital business, we're constantly evolving, so the ability to adapt to an ever-changing landscape is a must.
During our application process, you will be asked three questions to help us learn more about you and how you align with our values. These will be used as part of our selection criteria to determine if we progress your application further.

You’ll then focus on developing the knowledge and skills for your specific role, whilst working on practical projects with your cohort, supported by mentors, your dedicated line manager, your team, as well as the Early Careers team.
