The Role
This role offers outstanding graduates and early-career candidates the opportunity to begin their career in data engineering within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. You’ll work primarily within our Data Engineering team, while also gaining exposure to Data Science and Data Analytics through cross-functional projects.
You’ll help build the infrastructure, pipelines and tooling that underpin Evident’s research, benchmarks and client products. Over time, you’ll develop hands-on experience working with large datasets, automation workflows and modern cloud tooling, while building a strong understanding of how data supports AI strategy at the world’s largest financial institutions.

You’ll work closely with engineers, analysts and data scientists across the business, gaining exposure to the full lifecycle of data products - from collection and transformation through to analysis and delivery.
Examples of the work you’ll be across:
- Data Pipelines & Automation: You’ll support the development and maintenance of data pipelines, automation workflows and ETL processes that power our products and internal operations.
- Web Scraping & Data Collection: You’ll help collect structured and unstructured data from a variety of sources, including websites, APIs and internal datasets.
- Cloud Data Infrastructure: You’ll gain experience working with modern cloud tooling and databases, helping maintain scalable and reliable data systems.
- Cross-Team Rotations: You’ll have opportunities to work on projects with our Data Science and Data Analytics teams, gaining exposure to machine learning workflows, analytics projects and index production processes.
- Process Improvement & Internal Tooling: You’ll contribute to internal tooling, documentation and process improvements that help the wider data team work more efficiently.
Core Skills:
- 2026 STEM graduate or 0-2 years experience in data engineering, software engineering or a related technical role.
- Experience programming in Python or another modern programming language.
- Familiarity with SQL and working with datasets.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Eagerness to learn modern data engineering tooling and cloud technologies.
- Comfortable working collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive, with an eagerness to take ownership and learn quickly.
- An interest in AI, data infrastructure and emerging technologies.

Nice to have
- Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS or Azure.
- Familiarity with GitHub or version control tools.
- Experience with web scraping, APIs or automation projects.

- Personal, academic or internship projects involving data engineering or software development.
