Graduate Design Engineer – Autodesk Inventor / CAD Specialist
A well-established engineering group based in Huddersfield (close to the M62 link) is recruiting for a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer to play a pivotal role in product development and production. As part of the engineering team, you’ll support the development of new and existing products to meet industry and customer-specific mechanical and pressure-related specifications.
The role reports to the Engineering Supervisor and Group Engineering/Technical Manager, with collaboration across R&D, Sales, and Production teams.

- Creating general assembly and manufacturing drawings using Autodesk Inventor/CAD.
- Generating Bills of Materials (BOMs) within the company’s MRP (Material Requirements Planning) system.
- Producing installation, operational, and maintenance manuals.
- Designing and developing new and existing pressure-related products.
- Supporting day-to-day troubleshooting and resolving product performance issues.
- Drafting factory test procedures for valves.
Note: Responsibilities may expand beyond this scope.
Essential / Desirable Skills
Core Skills
- Strong mechanical design experience, particularly in valve design.
- Proficiency with BS8888 drawing standards.
- Advanced 2D and 3D CAD skills, with preference for Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
- Ability to communicate complex technical details to non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborative teamwork and strong mathematical/analytical aptitude.

Technical Proficiencies
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Experience using MRP systems.
