MGF are currently seeking a Graduate Design Engineer to join a leading Temporary Works Engineering department, based in Astley, Manchester.
Specialising in temporary works design, the successful candidates will be working within a 35 strong engineering department in Manchester with full technical responsibility for their own projects.
Following an established, successful training programme, the successful candidate would have full technical responsibility for their own projects, be expected to manage their own designs and attend site meetings / inspections nationwide in support of their design work - initially supported by Senior Engineers. The position offers a high degree of responsibility very quickly for candidates with the right aptitude.
Your Key Responsibilities May Include
- Production of Temporary Works designs and drawings on a day-to-day basis to satisfy customer demand
- Checking your own designs and drawings in line with MGF’s quality procedures
- To produce “one-off” project work as directed by the Engineering Management Team
- Provide technical support to the Sales Team / Customer (project related/non-project related)
- Contribute to the smooth and effective operation of the department
- Follow MGF’s internal QA procedures self-management of allocated workload to meet customer / business demand

The Core Requirements For This Role Are
- Civil Engineering Degree
- Strong analytical abilities
- A professional manner with good communication skills
- Strong IT skills
Experience working within a similar design role would be preferred but is not essential, as would structural design, geotechnical design, and temporary works knowledge.
