Graduate Design Engineer
Location: Mid Suffolk
Salary: £28,000 + Benefits
We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturer in Mid Suffolk who is looking to add a Graduate Design Engineer to their growing engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent engineering graduate to begin their career within a supportive manufacturing environment, working alongside experienced engineers on the design and development of new and existing products.
The Role
As a Graduate Design Engineer, you'll be involved in the design process from concept through to manufacture, gaining exposure to the full product lifecycle while developing your technical skills.

Key responsibilities include:
- Producing 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings.
- Assisting with the design and development of new products.
- Supporting modifications and improvements to existing designs.
- Creating Bills of Materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation.
- Working closely with manufacturing, production, and quality teams.
- Assisting with prototype builds, testing, and product validation.
- Ensuring designs are practical, cost-effective, and suitable for manufacture.
- Supporting continuous improvement projects across the engineering function.

About You
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering, or a similar engineering discipline.
- Experience using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, or Solid Edge.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively.
- Placement year, internship, or manufacturing experience would be advantageous but isn't essential.
