Hays Engineering is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a leading global manufacturing organisation for a Graduate Design Engineer position based in the Dungannon area. This is an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious engineering graduate to join a world-class engineering team, working on innovative products used across international markets.
The Role
As a Graduate Design Engineer, you will work closely with experienced engineers to develop and improve mechanical products and manufacturing processes. You will gain hands-on experience across the full product lifecycle, from concept and design through to testing and production support.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Producing 3D CAD models and engineering drawings
- Assisting with the development of manufacturing specifications and bills of materials
- Supporting engineering change management processes
- Working collaboratively with Production, Quality, Manufacturing, and Service teams
- Identifying and resolving engineering issues using a root-cause approach
- Contributing to product improvement and continuous improvement initiatives
- Supporting prototype development, testing, and validation activities

What You'll Need
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline (minimum 2:2 preferred)
- Strong understanding of engineering principles
- Experience using 3D CAD software through university projects or placements
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
Desirable
- Knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic systems
- Experience of Product Data Management (PDM) systems
- Advanced Excel skills
- Familiarity with Creo / Pro-Engineer or similar CAD packages
