About Avian Ecology
At Origin Enterprises, we are dedicated to championing sustainable land use, and our Environmental teams support a diverse range of clients and projects—from land management and development to restoration and conservation.
Joining us means becoming part of a collaborative, purpose-driven community where this collective expertise enables us to deliver high quality, fully integrated solutions and contribute to meaningful environmental outcomes across the UK and Ireland.
Avian Ecology, an Origin Enterprises company, is a growing ecological consultancy delivering complex infrastructure and land-use projects across the UK, with a strong and expanding portfolio in the renewables sector, including onshore wind and solar.
As we continue to expand, we are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Graduate Digital Ecologist to join our growing data team. This role will primarily focus on data management, data entry, quality assurance, and GIS support, ensuring that ecological data is accurately processed, maintained, and ready for analysis and reporting. You will play a key role in supporting our consultants by maintaining high standards of data integrity across a wide range of projects.
While the core of this position is office-based and digitally focused, there will be opportunities to gain practical field experience and develop an understanding of ecological survey methods. Fieldwork will form a smaller component of the role, offering valuable context to the data you manage rather than being a primary responsibility.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
