Society is in your hands, what are you waiting for?

We are currently looking for two talented and motivated Graduate Ecologists to join our team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in ecological consultancy. We work with a hybrid model which for us typically means at least 3 days in the office or on site.

What does the role involve?

As a Graduate Ecologist, you will undertake ecological surveys (habitat surveys and surveys for legally protected species). There will be some report writing, liaising with clients, contractors, and the general public to assist with achieving points relating to land use and ecology for BREEM assessments. You will also be producing habitat and other survey plans and carrying out Ecological Clerk of Works duties.

What do you need?

You'll hold a degree in Ecology or an Ecology related subject, you might be a fresh graduate or could have gained some relevant experience at another organization. The positions can be based in our Cambridge, London, or Ipswich offices but there will be travel to sites and other offices so a full driver's license is required.

Due to the nature of the work you may be required to work outside of usual office hours, for example, bat surveys may require night working and reptile surveys/mitigation may require early morning or evening site visits.

What’s in it for you?

You’ll experience an inclusive, friendly, and flexible working environment where colleagues are encouraged to grow and develop. A meaningful job where you’ll help to transform society by being a trusted consultant to our clients.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
