Description
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Engineer to join our Epitaxy team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to develop expertise in semiconductor epitaxial growth processes while contributing to process monitoring, data analysis, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Working alongside experienced engineers and scientists, you will support the manufacture and development of high-performance semiconductor devices by analysing process data, maintaining metrology systems, developing scripting tools, and producing technical reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the operation and optimisation of epitaxial growth processes.
- Perform routine process monitoring and assist with process troubleshooting.
- Collect, analyse, and interpret manufacturing and metrology data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and maintain scripts to automate data collection, analysis, reporting, and routine engineering tasks.
- Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of engineering databases and reporting tools.
- Carry out metrology measurements using semiconductor characterisation equipment and ensure measurement accuracy and repeatability.
- Analyse metrology results to verify process performance against specifications.
- Produce regular engineering reports, dashboards, and presentations summarising process performance, yield, and key metrics.
- Work closely with Process Engineers, Manufacturing, Quality, and Equipment Engineering teams to investigate process issues.
- Maintain accurate engineering documentation and follow established quality procedures.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and cleanroom working practices.

Skills, Knowledge And Expertise
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Materials Science, Physics, Electronic Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Semiconductor Engineering.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of data analysis and statistical methods.
- Experience with scripting or programming such as Python or MATLAB.
- Ability to present technical information clearly through written reports and presentations.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Comfortable working with large datasets and engineering software.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Advantage
- Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of epitaxial growth techniques such as MOCVD or MBE.
- Experience with semiconductor metrology techniques (e.g. XRD, PL, AFM, ellipsometry, optical microscopy, profilometry, or similar).
- Familiarity with SQL, data visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau), or laboratory information systems.
- Basic understanding of statistical process control (SPC).
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
