Graduate Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Brighton Salary: £30,000 + Benefits Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Are you a recent Engineering graduate looking to kick-start your career within a thriving manufacturing environment?

We're working with an established and innovative manufacturer looking to hire a Graduate Manufacturing Engineer to join its growing engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience, collaborate with experienced engineers, and develop technical and professional skills in a supportive business environment.


The Role

As a Graduate Manufacturing Engineer, you will:

  • Contribute to projects focused on improving manufacturing processes, enhancing operational efficiency, and supporting the introduction of new products into production.
  • Work in a varied role with exposure to production, quality, process improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting manufacturing and production engineering activities across the site.
  • Assisting with process improvements to boost productivity and reduce waste.
  • Collaborating with production teams to resolve engineering and manufacturing issues.
  • Supporting new product introduction (NPI) and ensuring manufacturing readiness.
  • Producing and updating:
    • Work instructions
    • Process documentation
    • Technical reports
  • Assisting with root cause investigation and implementing corrective actions.
  • Contributing to Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement projects.
  • Working closely with Quality, Production, and Design Engineering teams.

Ideal qualifications and skills:

  • A degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Production Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn.
  • Interest in manufacturing, process improvement, and continuous improvement.
  • Placement year or internship experience in manufacturing is advantageous but not essential.
