Ferrovial Construction UK&I is the UK-based arm of the Ferrovial Group, specialising in engineering, construction, and transport infrastructure. With 60+ years of experience, we design and construct high-profile transport projects, ensuring cost-effective, sustainable solutions for clients.

Job Title

Environmental Graduate (2026 – Ministry of Defence & Department for Energy Security & Net Zero)

Key Responsibilities

In collaboration with Environmental Managers, you will:

  • Assist in writing and reviewing environmental documentation, including:

    • Environmental Management Plans
    • Inspection and Test Plans
  • Support communication strategies to ensure environmental compliance and sustainability across projects, contractors, and subcontractors.

  • Monitor construction activity in alignment with:

    • Ferrovial construction standards
    • Technical standards (ISO, militaries, industry best practice)
  • Contribute to:

    • Health and Safety compliance reports
    • Sustainability metrics and audits
  • Promote environmental best practices across site teams and stakeholders.

  • Act as a subject-matter expert on H&S/Environmental compliance, driving continuous improvement.

  • Represent Ferrovial values – Excellence, Innovation, Collaboration, Integrity, Respect.


Key Accountabilities

✔ Sustainability & Compliance – Ensure adherence to environmental and health and safety policies on projects.

✔ Technical Support – Aid in:

  • Environmental audits
  • Pollution control plans
  • Mitigation strategies

✔ Training & Reporting – Document progress and risks, feeding back into quarterly business reviews.

✔ Team Accompaniment – Work closely with international stakeholders, leveraging technology, AI, and external expertise where needed.


Requirements & Skills

Essential Criteria

✅ Degree, Master’s or A-Level Equivalent (All disciplines considered—we value variety as long as you’re proactive and motivated.)

✅ Right to work in the UK – Must be confirmed for the entire duration of the Programme.

✅ Motivation & Team-Focused Mindset – Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

✅ Basic technical awareness: Familiarity with:

  • Health and Safety legislation
  • Fundamental environmental requirements (e.g., evaluation, contractions).
