Job Description: UAS Operations Specialist
Do you want to work with advanced technology in real-world operational environments - not just in a lab or on paper?
At sees.ai, we deploy autonomous UAS to inspect critical national infrastructure across the UK. This is an entry-level operations role for graduates who've already used UAS or technical field equipment to get a job done — in a survey, research project, inspection, or similar context — and who want to build a career at the sharp end of real-world UAS operations.
The Role
This is an operations-focused role. You'll be planning and delivering real UAS missions in live environments — where weather changes, access is constrained, and the quality of your preparation and judgement directly affects outcomes.
Our UAS operate through software-based control systems and real-time dashboards. You don't need to be able to build them — you need to be able to plan, execute, and adapt when things don't go to plan.
You'll split your time between field deployments across the UK and planning, analysis, and preparation at our Chichester base. This is a role for people who are genuinely energised by being out on operations — not just comfortable with it.
What You'll Be Doing
- Operating UAS missions via software-based control systems and real-time dashboards
- Planning and coordinating deployments, balancing weather, logistics, and operational constraints
- Managing site logistics including travel, access, accommodation, and contingencies
- Capturing and validating inspection data in the field
- Acting as the link between field operations and engineering — providing structured, useful feedback
- Maintaining high safety and operational standards across all environments
- Contributing to how we improve mission planning and execution as we scale

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Who This Role Is Suited To
This role suits people who combine technical grounding with a genuine enthusiasm for operational, field-based work.
You'll likely have:
- A degree in a discipline that involves analysis, data, and judgement.
- Experience operating UAS, technical field equipment, or similar tools to get a job done — in a research project, survey, inspection, conservation, or operational role — not just flying recreationally
- A genuine appetite for field work: you're as comfortable on a wind-swept site as you are in front of a screen
What matters most is how you work:
- You think systematically and plan ahead, rather than reacting on the fly
- You exercise good judgement when conditions are uncertain
- You take a conscientious, detail-oriented approach to execution
- You're comfortable owning outcomes, not just completing tasks
- You stay calm and focused when working through systems, data, and real-world constraints
A structured mindset and a track record of using equipment purposefully in the field matter far more here than flight hours or technical qualifications.
