Graduate Full Stack Engineer
Who You Are
This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career software engineer who wants hands-on experience across backend and frontend development within a fast-paced fintech environment.
Key Requirements:
- Back-end experience: Proficiency with Python (academic or commercial).
- Front-end skills: Familiarity with TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks (preferably React/Next.js).
- API & systems: Understanding of REST APIs and backend development principles.
- Databases: Experience with relational (PostgreSQL) and non-relational databases (MongoDB or similar).
- Problem-solving: Strong analytical and technical problem-solving abilities.
- Soft skills: Strong communication, teamwork, and willingness to learn.
- Education: Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience).
- Background: Exposure to full-stack development, including FastAPI.
- Cloud exposure: Familiarity with cloud platforms (preferred: Google Cloud Platform (GCP)).
- Web Architecture: Understanding of modern web architecture.
- Experience: Internship or project experience in a similar tech stack.

What The Job Involves
Reporting & Scope
Works under the Chief Technology Officer (CTO). This Graduate Full Stack Engineer will primarily focus on backend tasks while contributing to frontend development, helping to scale and modernise the platform.
Core Responsibilities
(Including participation in platform re-platforming efforts)
- Develop and maintain backend services using Python and FastAPI.
- Build scalable APIs for internal and external use.
- Contribute to frontend development (Next.js, React with TypeScript).
- Collaborate with senior engineers to deliver clean, maintainable solutions.
- Write high-quality, tested, and efficient code.
- Partake in code reviews and technical discussions.
- Complete sprint-based tasks from the project backlog.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues.
- Help re-platform the system for mobile & web scalability.
- Drive process improvements and innovation for product development.
- Gradually evolve into a backend-focused role with frontend support, along with potential contributions to product/analyst teams as the business scales.

Key Deliverables
Expectations for this role include:
- Delivering high-quality, production-grade code across both backend and frontend stacks.
- Successfully completing assigned development tickets on time and to specification.
- Supporting platform re-platforming initiatives and new product builds.
- Continuously upskilling while sharing knowledge with the team.
- Helping to scale frontend (Next.js/React) and backend (FastAPI/Python) components.
- Bridging Python-based backend services with mobile app development over time.
