The JPP Group are a multi-disciplinary construction consultancy offering a wide range of unique in-house services to a broad client base. We have teams of Civil and Structural Engineers, Architects, Geotechnical and Geo-Environmental Consultants, Development Planners and Land & Building Surveyors working on projects ranging from small domestic alterations, through to contracts over £30 million.

Job overview

This role is within JPP Geotechnical and Environmental Ltd, who provide geotechnical and environmental ground investigation services across the UK.

Responsibilities and duties

Working within the Geotechnical and Environmental team the role will be varied and will include, but is not limited to:

  • Working to become a geotechnical and Environmental professional.
  • Working both on site and office based throughout the year.
  • Applicants will be expected to work on site in varying locations around the UK, to include driving to and from site, and staying away from home as required (expenses covered by JPP).
  • Soil and rock logging to current British Standards. Laboratory scheduling.
  • Participating in a variety of geotechnical and geo-environmental projects for both external clients and for other teams within JPP.
  • Assisting with desk studies and design/scoping of investigations.
  • Site supervision of ground investigations, earthworks and construction activities.
  • Collating geological/geotechnical/environmental data and report writing.
  • Managing site activities and subcontractors.

Qualifications and training

As part of the JPP Group, Graduate Engineers will be encouraged to attend continuous professional development training offered to all employees by both internal and external trainers. Engineers will also be required to attend mandatory training provided.
