Graduate Geography Trainee Teacher (Salaried Route – QTS Pathway)

Location: London

School Type: High-Achieving Secondary School

Contract: Full-Time | Start: September 2026

This is an exceptional opportunity to train as a teacher while earning a salary, gaining invaluable classroom experience in a supportive and academically successful school.

The Role

You will join a successful Humanities department and begin developing your teaching practice from day one. Supported by experienced mentors and subject specialists, you will gradually build the knowledge, confidence, and classroom expertise required to become an outstanding Geography teacher.

Throughout the academic year, you will receive structured training while taking on increasing teaching responsibility, allowing you to develop into a confident and reflective practitioner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and deliver Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 as your confidence develops.
  • Inspire students through engaging lessons covering topics such as physical geography, human geography, environmental issues, and global development.
  • Plan and deliver high-quality learning activities that challenge and engage students of all abilities.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to support both high-achieving learners and students requiring additional academic support.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help maximise attainment.
  • Develop effective classroom and behaviour management strategies with the support of experienced mentors.
  • Observe outstanding teachers and implement best practice within your own teaching.
  • Participate in weekly professional development sessions covering pedagogy, curriculum design, assessment, safeguarding, and classroom practice.
  • Gradually assume increased teaching responsibilities throughout the training year as you work towards QTS.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
