We have exciting opportunities for Graduate Geotechnical Engineers to join the UK’s largest and most diverse geotechnical and ground engineering contractor.
The role will be challenging, demanding, varied and a fantastic opportunity to begin your career alongside the support offered from our vastly experienced team.
What You'll Be Doing
- Undertake geotechnical analytical work, from planning, execution and reporting of Geo-Environmental and Geotechnical site investigations
- Assist with various field activities including assessment and analysis of geotechnical conditions and investigations
- Involvement in laboratory testing programmes for soil and rock samples
- Prepare and assist with reviewing, analysing and interpreting geotechnical data
- Assist with report writing and technical notes
- Undertake Research & Development projects including developing innovative engineering tools and solutions
- Implement operational quality control measures and quality assurance processes
- Take a proactive approach in the responsibility for Health and Safety
- Attend regular meetings with internal and external parties
- Undertake contaminated land assessment and site remediation using appropriate technical skills
- Conduct soil and groundwater risk assessments, liaising with clients and regulators
- Working collaboratively with engineers and other technicians to deliver quality evidence led reports
- Conduct self in a way that reflects and promotes the Van Elle company values.

Who We're Looking For
- A minimum 2:2 BSc (Hons) in Geology, Civil Engineering or related subject
- Previous practical construction experience (desirable)
- Experience with AutoCAD preferable
- IT competent in Microsoft packages
- Valid CSCS would be beneficial.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work effectively to deadlines and under pressure.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy of work
- Effective planning and organisation skills
- A structured approach to problem solving.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of the relevant legal and safety regulations

Other Requirements
- Eligible to work and live in the UK.
- Flexibility to travel in the UK.
- A full driving licence, that is valid in the UK (essential)
What You’ll Get In Return
- Competitive salary depending on experience.
- Hours of work are 7.30am – 5.00pm, Monday to Friday however flexibility is required
- 25 days holiday plus bank/public holidays.
