Graduate Geotechnical Engineer

The Role

We are seeking a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in London. We are a small specialist team that promotes learning through shared collective experience.

Our expertise spans geotechnical engineering, including:

  • Soil investigations
  • Basement evaluations
  • Slope stability reviews
  • Earthworks design
  • Expert guidance for safe and stable construction projects

We specialise in complex projects like:

  • Basement developments
  • Large earthwork schemes
  • Data centres
  • Tunnel movement assessments
  • Infrastructure projects

Responsibilities

  • Producing professional and technically competent reports, and liaising with specialists and clients.
  • Preparing ground models and design parameters.
  • Analysis of slopes, walls, foundations, and other geotechnical structures.
  • Supporting project delivery, including client liaison and multi-disciplinary coordination.
  • Contributing to sustainable project delivery.
  • Occasionally supervising site-based ground investigation and construction work.
  • Ensuring all tasks align with Curtins policies and maintain the highest safety, health, and environmental standards.

The Right Fit

  • Qualifications: Degree in Engineering Geology, Geotechnics, or related field. A Master’s in Geotechnical Engineering is preferable but not mandatory.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of engineering geology and geotechnics, with problem-solving determination.
  • Communication Skills: Must produce clear, concise written reports presenting technical information effectively.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work well with team members, clients, and interdisciplinary colleagues.
  • Attention to Detail: Willingness to learn new tasks and maintain high scrutiny.
  • Health & Safety Awareness: Commitment to best practices and procedures.
  • Licensing: Driving license is required due to site travel commitments.
