Graduate Highway/Infrastructure Design Engineer

The Role: Graduate Highway/Infrastructure Design Engineer

As part of the Integrated Transport Planning (ITP) team, you’ll partner with expert professionals to design sustainable mobility solutions that serve communities while preserving local identity. This position spans both public and private sector clients in the UK, offering flexibility in digital tools and collaborative workstyles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support technical documentation for highway alignments (concept to detailed design) and construction details, ensuring designs align with project needs and progress smoothly.
  • Undertake independent research and analysis of complex challenges.
  • Engage effectively with clients throughout project lifecycle—driving new opportunities while delivering projects.
  • Collaborate on highway/infrastructure design projects of varying scales.

What we expect from you

This graduate position suits professionals with:

  • An undergraduate (Hons) or master’s degree in civil engineering, or up to one year postgraduate experience.
  • AutoCAD proficiency and familiarity with Civil 3D.
  • Knowledge of highway design standards (e.g., DMRB, Manual for Streets).
  • Strong communication, analytical, and teamwork skills.
  • Attention to detail, empathy for sustainability, and an understanding of transport planning’s societal role.
