Graduate Hydraulic Modeller
Location: Crawley, West Sussex Type: Full-time, permanent
Richard Allitt Associates, part of the RSK Group, is seeking a Graduate Hydraulic Modeller to join their team. This role welcomes graduates with an Honours degree in Civil Engineering, Geography, or candidates with 1–3 years of hydraulic modelling experience in drainage systems such as sewers and watercourses, particularly in the urban environment.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute technologically at the forefront of hydraulic modelling. Responsibilities include:
- Providing technical guidance to clients and colleagues, working within a team of modellers, technicians, and analysts.
- Developing 1D or 2D models, primarily focusing on integrated drainage systems, using InfoWorks ICM.
- Undertaking hydrology studies and determining suitable inputs for catchment models.
- Managing and manipulating Lidar data, Ordnance Survey mapping, asset data, and GIS datasets, drawing from various sources.
- Aiding the development of new techniques and workflows to accelerate project delivery.
- Preparing technical reports, diagrams, and visualisations such as plans and maps.

Other duties will be assigned as project demands require.
Requirements
- An Honours degree in a relevant subject such as Civil Engineering or Geography.
- Technical proficiency in maths, GIS, or engineering principles.
- Strong computer literacy with experience of software relevant to hydraulic modelling (e.g. InfoWorks ICM).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under tight deadlines.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills to present ideas clearly and confidently.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively under pressure.
