About The Position
We are looking for graduates from various disciplines to join multiple areas of our business. This vacancy is for a role in Industrial Engineering based at our operation in Argentina.
As a Graduate Engineer, your role will include research, design, development, testing, and maintenance of aspects related to the manufacturing and installation of electrical equipment, components, and systems.
As part of the graduate program, you will experience an innovative and future-focused journey that includes
- Learning fundamental leadership skills by leading a virtual team through a gamified leadership simulation.
- Challenging your thinking and gaining external perspectives from futurists and thought leaders.
- Acquiring a future-focused skillset to inspire innovation and creativity through a series of masterclasses.
- Actively participating in the daily operations of the Rincón 3000 Project.
- Closely engaging in the development of the Rincón Project.
- Collaborating with fellow graduates to innovate solutions for future business and global challenges.
- Developing your leadership skills through one-on-one coaching sessions with an experienced external coach.
- Networking with our senior leaders and subject matter experts.
- Accessing world-class digital learning resources.
To apply for the Graduate Program, you must have
- Completed your studies in the last two years (2024 or 2025), or be in your final year with graduation expected in 2026.
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Industrial Engineering.
- Less than two years of relevant work experience (local or international).
- A valid driver’s license.
- Commitment to personal and team safety.
- Leadership skills, a desire to learn, and a willingness to take on challenges.
- Interest in working in a complex, large-scale industrial environment.
- A safety-oriented mindset.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Flexibility and autonomy.
- Enthusiasm for collaborating with diverse teams in unique environments.
- Proficiency in English and Spanish, both spoken and written. Rio Tinto is a global company, and this role requires daily collaboration with colleagues, teams, or partners outside of Argentina.

Where You’ll Be Working
The Rincón Lithium Project is a large, undeveloped lithium brine project located in the heart of the Lithium Triangle in Salta Province, Argentina — an emerging hub for greenfield developments. It is a long-life, scalable resource with one of the lowest carbon footprints among lithium resources globally. This acquisition represents a significant further endorsement of our commitment to the battery materials sector and the role of lithium in a low-carbon future.
