Graduate Submarines Information Management & Technology
Location: Barrow (Cumbria) Working Arrangement: Hybrid and flexible — 3-4 days on-site per week Salary: £34,000 per annum + £2,000 welcome bonus

Role Description
As a Graduate Solution Architect in the IM&T Product Fulfilment (PF) team, you’ll collaborate closely with stakeholders to identify business needs, bridge technical requirements, and recommend IT solutions that align with strategic goals. Core responsibilities include:
- Aligning IT initiatives with functional and organisational strategy/roadmap
- Evaluating technological solutions to address existing business challenges
- Presenting technical architecture to project stakeholders—clarifying design, functionality, and behaviour of proposed software
You’ll support demand management, business analysis, design decisions, and communication between customers, internal IT teams, and project management.
Core Duties
- Demand routing: Attend demand management meetings to optimise workflow and align new requirements with the strategic roadmap.
- Stakeholder collaboration: Work directly with customers to gather and document their needs.
- Solution definition: Break down features and phases into deliverable options tailored to customer needs.
- Reporting: Compile weekly performance metrics and architecture documentation, highlighting key complexities in customer demand.
- Design input: Participate in high-level design discussions to negotiate quotations from IT service providers and initiate new IT projects.

This role is part of the engineering and technical investigations team responsible for designing, constructing, testing, and commissioning:

Qualification Requirements
Applicants must (or are predicted to) hold:
- A minimum second-class (2:2) bachelor’s degree (or equivalent overseas qualifications) in:
- Computer Science
- Business with IT modules
- Software Engineering
- Systems Engineering
- Data Science
- Information Management & Technology (IM&T)
- Robotics
Start date: 25th January 2025 Contract type: Permanent appointment
