About The Role – A Pathway To Sales
This internship provides a steep learning curve with hands-on exposure to sales and advisory activities within our Carbon Solutions Desk, which serves corporate customers as a principal trading and advisory desk.
Interns will work on real-world projects with direct commercial application, gaining first-hand experience in carbon markets, client engagement, and market development. You’ll not only research and analyse the market but also engage in sales-driven activities, such as business development, lead generation, and advisory support. This experience will prepare you for a future role in sales or business development at SCB.
Our ideal candidate is confident, adaptable and thrives under pressure. If you are eager to build relationships, develop a deep understanding of carbon consulting and ultimately transition into a sales role, this internship is the perfect stepping stone.

As market professionals, we work closely with corporate clients to develop custom carbon solutions, helping them address sustainability challenges, meet Net Zero commitments, and compensate for unavoidable emissions.
Our Carbon Solutions Desk is a principal trading and advisory desk that structures deals, trades carbon credits, and advises corporate clients on carbon offsetting strategies. The team engages in both sales-driven and market-making activities, creating a dynamic environment where commercial and analytical skills go hand in hand.

What You Will Do
Interns are responsible for executing projects and supporting the daily operations of the Carbon Solutions Desk. This combination of project and sales-focused tasks allows interns to gain market insights while actively contributing to business development.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
Sales & Business Development
- Supporting sales and business development teams with key advisory proposals and deal execution.
- Prospecting and outreach to corporate clients, qualifying leads and building a sales pipeline.
- Cold calling, market mapping and lead generation as well as identifying and engaging potential corporate clients.
- Learning to structure and pitch carbon solutions, helping companies achieve sustainability goals.
Market Research & Analysis
- Conducting research on voluntary carbon markets, pricing trends and carbon credit supply & demand dynamics.
- Analysing market data to support trading and advisory activities.
- Assisting in preparing presentations, marketing materials and sales proposals for the desk.

Strategic & Operational Support
- Assisting with weekly issuance and retirement reports to track carbon credit transactions.
- Developing and implementing new systems to streamline internal processes and improve efficiency.
- Working on special projects to enhance SCB’s market intelligence and client offerings.
Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking graduates interested in building a commercial career in sales, trading, commodities, carbon markets, or financial markets.
Minimum Requirements
- A degree in Business, Finance, Environmental Studies, Economics, Energy, or related fields.
- A strong interest in sales, trading, and commercial deal-making.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- An entrepreneurial mindset, self-driven and comfortable with proactive outreach.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office; programming skills will be an advantage.
- Prior sales experience (cold calling, business development, or financial sales) will be an advantage but not required.
