About IMP

IMP is a private markets specialist working across two divisions.

IMP Search is a retained executive search business placing senior distribution, capital formation, and investment professionals with private equity, private debt, infrastructure, real estate, and secondaries firms.

IMP Intelligence is our proprietary compensation benchmarking platform, built on pay data supplied directly by firms, covering base, bonus, and carry across the private markets.

We are self-funded, profitable, and small. That last point matters: this is not a graduate scheme with a rotation and a cohort. You will sit alongside the two partners, see the whole business, and your work will be visible from your first week.

The role

Graduate Marketing and Client Services Executive is a new position supporting both divisions. It exists because the firm's commercial engine (outreach, client contact, events, platform relationships) has outgrown what two partners can run between mandates.

You will own the operational side of IMP's go-to-market strategy. In practice, that breaks down into five areas.

Sales support, IMP Search

  • Own the mailer end-to-end in Mailchimp: message set-up, segmentation, scheduling, and separate targeted sends
  • Build the target lists that give us a reason to make contact: new hires, new fund launches, team build-outs, and other market movements
  • Write and send outreach on behalf of the partners, offering an introductory conversation
  • Keep Apollo clean and correctly coded, so the pipeline data we act on is data we can trust

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Client services, IMP Intelligence

  • Manage all inbound queries and issues from the client portal, resolving what you can and routing what you cannot
  • Organise regular client check-ins and prepare the partners for them
  • Track client credit usage and prompt clients to use their recruitment credits before they lapse

PR and marketing support

  • Organise roundtables and webinars: venue, invitation list, dietary requirements, run of show, follow-up
  • Support press release distribution when we take new research to the trade press

Social media support

  • Work with our head of marketing on LinkedIn messaging and coordinate the team's comment schedule
  • Support our Substack and Reddit if we take it further

Executive support

  • Manage the partners' diaries around client commitments

Who this suits

We are hiring for aptitude, not experience. You do not need a background in finance or recruitment, and we are not expecting you to know what carried interest is on day one.

You will do well here if you:

  • Write clearly and can adapt your register, because a great deal of this job is email, and much of it goes out under a partner's name to senior people
  • Are unusually organised, and are comfortable being the person who remembers the thing everyone else forgot
  • Are genuinely comfortable chasing people, politely and repeatedly, until you get an answer
  • Like tools, and will happily work out what Mailchimp or Apollo can do rather than waiting to be shown
  • Have an eye for accuracy, because a mis-segmented list or a wrongly coded record is a mistake a client sees
  • Want to understand the business, not just complete the tasks in it

A 2:1 or equivalent in any discipline. Some exposure to a professional environment (internship, placement, part-time work) is useful but not required.

What we offer

  • Direct access to the two partners: you will be managed by them, not by a layer between you and the decisions
  • A genuine path. This role is designed as a feeder into either search or the IMP Intelligence side of the business. As you build judgment, you will start joining client calls, and the scope grows from there
  • Real ownership early, of the mailer, of the events calendar, and of the client credit relationship

“It took my CV and asked me questions relevant to understanding what kind of jobs to suggest for me. Suggestions were almost perfect. Jobs were exactly what I’ve been looking for.”
