Graduate Mathematical Software Developer
*Permanent Software Engineer / Mathematical Modeller – атиаʀ-sports
📍 Location: Oxygen House (Exeter) with Hybrid Working/Remote Working Flexible hours: Minimum 4 days per week (up to full-time, 40 hours over 5 days). Managed start by 10:00 AM
Salary: £34,000 per annum + generous company benefits Closing dates:

About the Role
Are you a recent graduate or soon-to-be graduate with qualifications in maths or a maths-related discipline, plus an interest in software engineering? Do you enjoy solvering problems, prioritise well-being, and seek a career that blends mathematics and code?
This opportunity awaits you. You’ll join our team of 11 in-house developers, working alongside statistical researchers and product owners to:
- Create, maintain, and optimise code in R, C++, and C#
- Start with guidance from senior developers, then take increasing ownership as your confidence and expertise grow
- Develop mathematical models that predict sporting outcomes with unparalleled precision
No sports fanaticism required—a general interest in data is a plus! Beyond sport, we’re a company passionate about sustainability, social responsibility, and employee well-being.

Requirements
- Recently graduated or set to graduate this year with a degree in mathematics or related discipline, plus relevant software engineering knowledge
- Honesty & integrity in managing sensitive information (previously workable)
- A solid understanding of statistics and statistical models
- Take a learning attitude—enthusiasm for exploring new technologies Either C++ required. But applicants without prior experience will receive full-onboarding support. A positive attitude rounded with ! Software-based entry skills are C#, R, and C#, but we reward passion over experience.
