Graduate Maths Trainee Teacher - Manchester
Salary: £26,761 | Full PGCE & QTS Included

Whether you’re a recent graduate or considering a career change, this is an exciting opportunity to train as a qualified Maths Teacher while earning a salary from day one.
Our fully supported salaried teacher training programme offers a direct pathway to achieving both Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) (PGCE is optional) within 12 months. You’ll gain hands-on classroom experience, expert mentoring, and the confidence needed to build a successful career in education.
About The Role
From September 2026, you’ll join our thriving Maths department as a trainee teacher and become a valued member of the school community.
Throughout the year, you’ll gradually develop your teaching practice - starting with observation and supported delivery before progressing to planning and leading your own lessons.
You’ll receive ongoing guidance from experienced Maths teachers and dedicated mentors while completing your formal teacher training qualification.
By the end of the programme, you’ll have the skills, experience, PGCE, and QTS needed to begin your career as a qualified Maths Teacher.

Who We’re Looking For | About You
We’re looking for enthusiastic individuals with strong mathematical ability and a genuine desire to make a difference in young people’s lives. You’ll ideally have:
- A degree in Mathematics or another numerate subject (2:1 preferred)
- Strong A-Level Mathematics knowledge
- Strong GCSE Mathematics knowledge
- A passion for helping students achieve their potential
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisation and a commitment to professional development
- The resilience, enthusiasm, and dedication needed to succeed in teaching
- The right to work in the UK

September – December: Building Foundations
- Observe experienced teachers and develop classroom confidence
- Learn effective teaching strategies, behaviour management, and assessment techniques
- Begin delivering lessons with structured support and feedback
January – March: Developing Your Practice
- Take increasing responsibility for lesson planning and teaching
- Receive regular coaching to refine your approach
- Continue developing your subject knowledge and teaching skills
April – July: Becoming Classroom Ready
- Teach independently with confidence
- Complete your PGCE and QTS requirements
- Prepare to begin your career as a qualified Maths Teacher
