Graduate Mechanical & Electrical Surveying Engineers
We are seeking Graduate Mechanical & Electrical Surveying Engineers to join our growing team, supporting the delivery of comprehensive M&E asset capture, lifecycle, condition and dilapidation surveys across a diverse range of sectors. The role involves working closely with clients, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality technical services that meet project timescales and standards.

About the Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to the successful completion of projects by applying sound technical knowledge and maintaining the highest standards of survey delivery and reporting. You will:
- Build strong relationships with clients, professional organisations, contractors, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Work collaboratively within the Mechanical and Electrical Services Asset Surveying team
- Lead and support on-site surveys, assessments, and inspections
The position requires undertaking detailed site surveys to:
- Identify, record, and condition-grade existing mechanical and electrical services assets using specialist app-based surveying software on tablet devices
- Produce accurate, comprehensive descriptions of assets and defects
- Review servicing and maintenance records to support lifecycle assessments and condition ratings

Our projects span a variety of building types, including:
- Hospitals
- Healthcare facilities
- Schools, colleges, and universities
- Hotels
- Commercial premises
With national delivery across the UK, the role involves:
- Regular travel throughout the UK, including overnight stays on a fully expensed basis
- Both team-based projects and independent survey execution
- Direct reporting under an Associate Director of MEP Asset Surveying
Key Responsibilities
Core Survey Duties
- Conduct full asset capture and lifecycle assessments
- Undertake planned preventative maintenance surveys
- Perform dilapidation surveys and latent defect inspections
- Carry out environmental condition validation testing, including:
- Lighting levels
- Acoustics
- Ventilation performance
- Humidity and temperature monitoring
- Heat emitter surface temperature assessments
- Water services validation
- Assess ceiling voids (requiring ladder use) to inspect mechanical and electrical assets above ceilings

Essential Qualifications
- City & Guilds qualification, HNC/HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Strong understanding of British Standards, regulations, and industry best practices in M&E design and installation
Experience & Skills
- Proven experience in mechanical and electrical services surveying or strong background in the building services industry (e.g., consultancy, maintenance, installation)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient report-writing capabilities
- Highly proactive workload management and strong time-keeping
- Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook) essential
Experience with GoReport software (
advantageous)
