Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant

Location: Coventry Contract: Full Time Start Date: September Salary: £20,000 - £25,000 (term time only)

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Coventry is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate who is considering a future in teaching, educational psychology, speech and language therapy, or another child-focused profession.

Working alongside experienced teachers and support staff, you will help pupils achieve their full potential both academically and socially while gaining invaluable school-based experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils across Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Key Stage 1, or Key Stage 2
  • Work alongside class teachers to deliver engaging and inclusive learning experiences
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to help pupils reach their full potential
  • Assist with literacy, numeracy, and intervention strategies
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development
  • Help create a positive and nurturing learning environment

Requirements

  • Holds a 2:1 degree or higher in recognisable subjects such as Psychology, Education Studies, English, Maths, or related fields
  • Demonstrates a genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development
  • Exhibits excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, enthusiasm, and adaptability are key attributes
  • Considering a future career in teaching or a child-focused profession
  • Experience in working with children is desirable but not compulsory
