Position Overview

The Graduate Process Engineer will join the engineering design team at UnitBirwelco's Halesowen office. This role involves working alongside experienced engineers to produce detailed process designs for various unit operations, ensuring compliance with global standards, and participating in all phases of engineering projects from FEED studies to commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working alongside experienced engineers to produce detailed process designs for a wide range of unit operations installed across the globe.
  • Fired heaters, heat exchangers, air coolers, flare systems, and full process packages.
  • Completing designs to a high technical standard in compliance with globally recognised specifications.
  • Full involvement in engineering projects from FEED studies and quotation submissions to detailed design and commissioning.
  • Development of key project documents including PFDs, P&IDs, and control philosophies.
  • Providing support to projects, proposals, and business development.
  • Providing support to other engineering disciplines.
  • Using a strong understanding of process engineering principles to provide troubleshooting to clients and other sectors of the business group.

  • A minimum 2:1 MEng/MSc or equivalent in Chemical Engineering.
  • Strong understanding of fundamental chemical engineering principles.
  • Industrial experience is desirable.
  • Highly motivated with an analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Determination to achieve IChemE Chartered Engineer status.
