Graduate Product Design Engineer
Location: Southampton
Term: Permanent
Salary: GBP 25,000 to GBP 28,000 per annum, dependent on experience
My client is a specialist manufacturer. They are looking for a Graduate Product Design Engineer to join their team in Southampton on a permanent basis.
Qualifications
- Degree qualified in Product Design, Industrial Design or similar
- Interested in developing a career in Design Engineering / Product Design
- A sound understanding of Mechanical Engineering processes and materials
- Previous work experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment would be beneficial
- Be proficient using 2D and 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Adobe Suite etc.
- Hands-on technical experience through your course
- Able to work to specific requirements and deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail
- Organised with excellent communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities
- Using 2D and 3D CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings
- Liaising with manufacturing providers
- Testing and prototype development
- Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans
- Updating 3D models and drawings
- Inputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs
- Checking drawings for sign off
- Working in a small multidisciplinary team on varied projects
