Why We Exist

Grocery retail is one of the industries best positioned to benefit from AI. Retailers generate enormous volumes of data across every part of their business, from customers and suppliers to stores, staff, energy, transport, and the supply chain. Yet, most grocers come nowhere close to using this data to its full potential. Retailers are united in their belief that AI will define the next era of competitiveness, yet most have only scratched the surface.

algo1 was born to correct this.

Mission matters to us. There are plenty of great startups that offer autonomy, a fast pace, and the feeling of building something together. What makes us different is our obsession with grocery and the shopper. If you're excited by the idea of changing an experience that touches almost everyone, this is the right place.

About The Role

This is a graduate role reporting to our Head of B2C Product, working closely with our engineering team.

This role blends curiosity with execution. You'll imagine how the in-store grocery experience could be made better, use AI to prototype those ideas, and get them in front of shoppers quickly. You'll iterate rapidly, watching how shoppers respond with features you prototype and deciding which ideas are worth pursuing. Features that prove themselves are handed over to engineering to review, refine, and commit to the live product, all at pace.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

How you build matters as much as what you build. We're agentic-first, we've built our own coding harness, and everyone works on max plans, so you'll never be rate-limited. The only limit will be your ability to imagine what shoppers truly value.

What You'll Do

  • Own an idea end to end, from initial concept to a proven feature.
  • Research market trends, shopper behaviour, and competitor products to inform new concepts.
  • Build features using AI and iterate rapidly, testing prototypes with real shoppers.

About You

You have been building things for as long as you can remember, and most of them nobody asked you to build. There's a trail behind you: side projects, code you wrote at midnight to solve a problem only you had, or something you shipped that real people ended up using. At some point, you went far deeper than what the assignment required simply because you couldn't leave it alone. That instinct is what we're hiring for.

We're a startup, so this is a high-intensity environment. The people who thrive here throw themselves into the things they care about.

Office Is Our Default

We get our energy from being together, so this is primarily an office-based role. It will suit someone who loves the quick conversations and building something together at pace. We're on what we think is the best garden square in London and a couple of minutes from Tottenham Court Road. It's easy to get to and a good place to be.

What We Offer

  • Backed by leading VCs, we pay competitive salaries for top talent and give meaningful equity.
  • 25 days' annual leave, plus public holidays.
