Graduate Product Engineer
Why We Exist
Grocery retail is one of the industries best positioned to benefit from AI. Retailers generate enormous volumes of data across every part of their business, from customers and suppliers to stores, staff, energy, transport, and the supply chain. Yet, most grocers come nowhere near to using this data to its full potential. Retailers are united in their belief that AI will define the next era of competitiveness, yet most have only scratched the surface.
AI was born to correct this.
Mission matters to us. There are plenty of great startups that offer autonomy, a fast pace, and the feeling of building something together. What makes us different is our obsession with grocery and the shopper. If you're excited by the idea of changing an experience that touches almost everyone, this is the right place.
About the Role
This is a graduate role reporting to our Head of B2C Product, working closely with our engineering team.
This role blends curiosity with execution. You'll imagine how the in-store grocery experience could be made better, use AI to prototype those ideas, and get them in front of shoppers quickly. You'll iterate rapidly, watching how shoppers respond to features you prototype and deciding which ideas are worth pursuing. Features that prove themselves are handed over to engineering to review, refine, and commit to the live product — all at pace.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Research market trends, shopper behaviour, and competitor products to inform new concepts
- Build features using AI and iterate rapidly, testing prototypes with real shoppers
What You'll Bring
- A track record of building and shipping things outside formal assignments:
- Side projects or midnight fixes you developed to solve a unique problem
- Code, concepts, or tools other people ended up using
- Relentless curiosity and a compulsion to dive deeper than necessary
- Ability to experiment and adapt — a natural exploratory mindset
- Instincts for understanding what shoppers truly value
- Proficiency in using agentic coding tools to turn ideas into working features efficiently
