Graduate Project Engineer – Permanent Role
About the Role
Our Asset Operations and Maintenance team is seeking a Graduate Project Engineer to join on a permanent basis, based at our West Thurrock office.
Graduates play a crucial role in shaping RSE’s future and addressing the water crisis by developing innovative solutions across the water industry.
Key Duties & Responsibilities

Project liaison from enquiry stage through to final acceptance, including:
- Meeting with clients to discuss specific requirements
- Conducting site surveys as necessary

Overseeing trades, apprentices, and subcontractors by:
- Issuing directives on quality, productivity, and safety
- Allocating work based on technical requirements

Interpretation and verification of project documentation:
- Drawings
- Specifications
- Schedules
- Ensuring compliance through tender specifications review, quotation appraisal, and Health & Safety (H&S) document auditing

Active involvement in tendering, design, and construction programming:
- Estimating and allocating resource timelines
- Preparing progress reports

Developing Construction Phase Health and Safety Plans with Principal Contractor responsibility under CDM (Construction (Design and Management) Regulations)

Requirements
- Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering or another relevant discipline
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to:
- Adapt and thrive in an energetic, reactive team environment
- Work collaboratively in a close-knit team setting
- Think creatively ("out of the box" solutions)
- Valid UK Driver’s Licence
