At MEI, we have over 25 years of experience delivering specialist electrical installations, maintenance, and repair solutions to both local and international clients across the marine and industrial sectors.
From small workboats and commercial vessels to offshore oil rigs and tankers, our team has successfully delivered projects globally. As demand for our services grows, we are seeking a motivated Graduate Project Engineer to join our Kirkintilloch-based engineering team and start building an exciting career within a dynamic and expanding company.

This role offers a recent engineering graduate hands-on experience, technical expertise, and international project exposure.
The Role
As a Graduate Project Engineer, you will work with the projects team, supporting planning, design, coordination, and delivery of electrical engineering projects across marine and industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning, preparation, and delivery of projects from concept to completion.
- Collaborate with the management and engineering team on project design and coordination.
- Prepare project documentation:
- Risk Assessments
- Health & Safety documentation
- Quality procedures
- Engage directly with clients, assist in preparing quotations, and coordinate material procurement as needed.
- Contribute to creation of CAD drawings and electrical system designs.
- Liaise with installation teams and electricians to ensure clarity and efficient project execution.
- Conduct site surveys and provide onsite engineering support when required.
- Assist in troubleshooting technical issues and propose improvements to project delivery.
Requirements
We’re looking for an ambitious, technically minded graduate ready to build a long-term engineering career.
Qualifications & Attributes
- Degree required: Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) completed within the last 3 years.
- Strong electrical systems knowledge with interest in marine or industrial environments.
- Communication skills: Confident interaction with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
- Ability to manage workloads, prioritise tasks, and thrive in fast-paced environments.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset.
- Willingness to travel nationally/internationally when required.
- Proactive attitude; self-motivated and collaborative.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
