If you're a recent graduate with a passion for problem-solving and analytical thinking, this is an excellent opportunity to launch your career with Protector Insurance. Based in Spinningfields, Manchester, Protector has grown rapidly since entering the UK market in 2015 and is looking to recruit a Graduate Property Underwriter to join its expanding team. You'll benefit from structured training, hands-on underwriting experience and genuine long-term career development.

Responsibilities

As a Graduate Property Underwriter, you'll play an important role in assessing and managing commercial property insurance risks, directly contributing to the success and profitability of the business.

  • Assessing commercial property insurance risks through technical underwriting and risk selection.
  • Managing existing clients while underwriting new business opportunities and tenders.
  • Reviewing qualitative information, including construction details, risk surveys and protection systems, to build accurate risk assessments.
  • Analysing information and presenting clear underwriting recommendations.
  • Building strong relationships with broker partners and colleagues across the business.
  • Developing your technical underwriting knowledge through structured training and practical experience.

What We Are Looking For

We're looking for graduates with strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities and a genuine interest in insurance.

  • A strong academic record and analytical mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain your decision-making.
  • A genuine interest in insurance and risk management.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach.
  • The ability to prioritise your workload effectively.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Confidence analysing qualitative information and working with data.
  • A passion for learning and professional development.
  • Previous insurance experience is not required.
  • Knowledge of SQL and/or Python would be advantageous but is not essential.
